Man Beats Driving With Cell Phone Ticket Using Hash Brown Defense

Jason Stiber got pulled over by police in Connecticut last year and was handed a distracted driving citation for using his cell phone behind the wheel. Except that wasn’t the case at all.
The 45-year-old spent 13 months fighting the charges, finally emerging victorious last week using a unique defense.
Westport Police Cpl. Shawn Wong Won claims he “clearly” saw Stiber holding a phone to his ear and moving his lips.
In reality, Stiber just was eating a hash brown from McDonald’s. Along with phone records proving he wasn’t on a call at the time, the judge found him not guilty.
